🚲 In yesterday’s sessions we learnt about the history of the Penny Farthing bicycle. Then the children had a sketching lesson to draw this original transport from nearly 200 years ago. Yes, it was a strange contraption and quite difficult to ride, but watching video clips with the classes, it’s amazing how they did! 👏

🍩 This month was National Doughnut Day. This is in support of the Children’s Trust. However the idea originated from back in 1938. When the sweet treats were baked by the Salvation Army Lassies for soldiers as a treat from WW1. It lifted their spirits and reminded them of home 🍩

🌼 The weather today is a bit sunshine and showers. It’s hard to believe that the senior class managed to have their lesson outside on Saturday.

Given the choice would they like to have the lesson inside or go outside in the sunshine, the class chose to be outside in the garden. We really love the fact that we can use a Ripley garden during lovely weather. Let’s hope it hurries up and returns!

On another note, we found a giant Daisy out in the garden, it must’ve been about 10 times the size of other daisies! 🌼

🧙‍♂️ What delighted were our pupils yesterday when they learnt that it was Harry Potter Day and they could run with that idea at art club yesterday!!!

🧙 Here are a dozen examples of work that children did, ranging from age 6 to 10. There is a selection of Harrys, a Hermione, Hedgewig, Hagrid and the famous Sorting Hat.

🖍️ We were absolutely delighted this sunny mo

🖍️ We were absolutely delighted this sunny morning, to go to Elmstead Woods Train Station and put up our latest art display.

🖍️Our Piccolo class, which are our youngest students aged, 4,5 &6, thoroughly enjoyed making their artwork ready to put on display for all to admire. It was inspired by the book ‘The Day The Crayons Quit!

🖍️(We can’t even believe that we have managed to find the song that supports the book.)

🖍️Please feel free to go down to the station, into their cosy waiting room, where the children’s work is on display for everyone to see and enjoy! Even the Bears are reading the story!!!
