🇮🇹Day 26

🎉The 15th August is Festa in Italy and all Catholic countries in Europe. It’s a very special day, as Christians know it’s the day of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary to Heaven.

🎉In Italy it is a special bank holiday and families get together to celebrate, the ‘Ferragosto.’ We had a family meal together, which is ‘Sacre Sanct’ on days like today. No one is left on their own.

🎉We ate Salame Paesano for starter followed by Fettuccini alla Siciliana, then we had Scallopine di Pollo al Limone, with fresh salad and potatoes from garden.

🎉Afterwards it was dessert time! There was a choice of little delicacies from a Piccoli Pasticceria, a homemade fruit flan and chocolate aubergines, (yes, I said chocolate aubergines! A local traditionfrom Maiori, which are eaten only today.)

🎉This was washed down with a choice of either Limincello or Mandarinetto. Or if you are my husband – both!!!

🎉Happy Ferragosto 🎉
